San Vicente Long Beach: worth the trip, not the day trip
About 14 km of white sand, billed as the longest white beach in the Philippines, and almost nobody on it. It is also about 4 hours north on the SBE bus, ₱400 from the SBE garage on BM Road. Now look at the timetable. Buses go out at 08:30, 12:00 and 14:00 and come back at 03:00, 06:00 and 14:30. Catch the 08:30, arrive around 12:30, and your options home are the 14:30, which is two hours of beach for eight hours of road, or 03:00 the next morning. There is no day trip in there. Sleep over, or stop here on the way to El Nido.

The longest beach in the country, and still nearly empty
Long Beach is a genuine superlative that has not yet been monetised, which is a sentence with a shelf life.
About fourteen kilometres of white sand in San Vicente municipality, on the same west coast as Port Barton. It is billed as the longest white beach in the Philippines and it is close to deserted: no strip of bars, no boat touts, and long sections with nothing built on them at all.
The forum threads about San Vicente are still mostly logistics threads: how to get there from Puerto Princesa, how to get on to El Nido, how to find flights. People are working out how to get there rather than arguing about which resort, which tells you where the place is in the tourism cycle.
What that means practically is that you should not arrive expecting infrastructure. Facilities are thin, choice is limited, and the beach's own length works against you: 14 km is not a stroll, and where you sleep decides which two kilometres you actually see.

San Vicente Airport exists, and its scheduled service is thin. Cebu Pacific's regional airline Cebgo launched Cebu to San Vicente on 24 October 2024, four times a week on ATR 72 turboprops. We found no Manila route. Check Cebu Pacific's current schedule before you plan around it.
The planning conclusion: do not build an itinerary on SWL unless you are coming from Cebu. Fly into Puerto Princesa and travel north by road.

Cash, signal and the last bus
Draw cash in the city. Tours, tricycles, markets and most small restaurants take cash. Foreign cards usually pay a fee per withdrawal, so take out larger amounts less often, and decline the machine's offer to charge you in your own currency. Sabang has few or no machines, so arrive with what you need for your stay.
The specific risk on this coast is the return leg. The 14:30 bus is the last civilised departure of the day and the next one is 03:00. Missing it is not an inconvenience, it is an unplanned night in a place with very few rooms. If you are travelling independently, confirm the departure time locally on the day, because timetables on this corridor change.
