Accommodation near Sabang Beach for the Underground River
Accommodation near Sabang Beach runs from fan rooms with shared cold showers to two resorts, Four Points by Sheraton (the former Sheridan Beach Resort) and Daluyon — and the reason to book any of it is the first Underground River boats. The park runs its paddle-boat tours from 08:30 to 15:30, and a van from the city spends 1.5 to 2.5 hours on the road before it reaches the wharf, so sleeping in Sabang is how you are there when the first boats go. It does not get you in on its own: the park states that staying overnight in Sabang guarantees no permit, so hold a Visitor Entry Permit before you arrive. Sabang is 76 km north-west of the city. Bring cash for the park fees — ₱735 a head before your share of the boat.
Is it worth staying near Sabang Beach?
Yes, for one night, if the Underground River is your main event. What you are paying for is being at the wharf when the first boats go, before the vans from the city arrive.
The Underground River runs its paddle-boat tours from 08:30 to 15:30, according to the park's tourism page; its January 2026 travel advisory gives a wider 08:00–16:00 window and says the limit is there so boats do not disturb the bats and swiftlets as they leave and return to the cave. Tour vans from the city need 1.5 to 2.5 hours to reach Sabang, so a guest who slept in the village can be on the first boats while the day-trippers are still on the road. Waiting at Sabang wharf is the problem that matters: the long queue at the boat terminal was among the complaints in the October 2025 open letter that park management answered publicly, and a GetYourGuide reviewer who took the early tour reported little wait to get into the cave.
Sort the permit before you get here. In a notice dated 9 January 2026 the park warned that claims that going straight to the park, or staying overnight in Sabang, guarantee a Visitor Entry Permit are inaccurate. A bed near the beach buys you the time slot, not the entry — the permits page explains how to hold one.
The second reason is the village itself: one beach, the mangrove river, and the evening after the day tours have gone back to the city. The Sabang village page covers what there is to do.
The reason not to: it is 76 km from the city and everything else, we found no published timetable for a direct Sabang–El Nido service, and one night is enough unless you are adding the mangrove paddle or the zipline. The park's 5.3 km jungle trail, once the main argument for a second night, is temporarily closed for renovation.

Is Four Points by Sheraton the old Sheridan Beach Resort?
Yes. Same property, same beach. Booking sites still show both names, so expect to see either.
Four Points by Sheraton Palawan Puerto Princesa and the Sheridan Beach Resort & Spa are the same hotel on Sabang Beach. Hotels.com, for one, still files the Four Points listing under its old Sheridan address. Book under either name and you will arrive at the same reception. If you find two listings at different prices for what look like two hotels, compare them — they are one.
It is worth knowing for a second reason: a guide that still calls it only the Sheridan has not been updated in a while, so check its other prices before you rely on them.
Should you stay overnight near Sabang Beach?
Sabang, practically
Bring cash for the park fees
Budget about ₱1,085 a head on site for the river if you are doing it yourself from Sabang, and carry it in cash.
The stack: ₱500 entrance, ₱150 environmental fee and ₱85 for the audio device — ₱735 — plus your share of the boat, which was ₱2,100 for a boat of six (₱350 each) in a March 2026 do-it-yourself guide. The park does not publish its rates online, so treat these as the latest reported figures. Even some booked tours collect the ₱150 environmental fee in cash at the wharf.
Add your room, your meals and any add-ons, and draw what you need in the city before you leave. See money and ATMs.
Sabang rooms and the river itself
Agencies in the city sell the river as a joiner tour from about ₱2,200 (March 2026) — check any platform price against that number. Tour prices and ratings below were checked on 5 October 2026.

Accommodation near Sabang Beach: questions, answered
What accommodation is near Sabang Beach?
Two resorts and a handful of guesthouses. At the top are Four Points by Sheraton Palawan (the former Sheridan Beach Resort) and Daluyon Beach and Mountain Resort; in the middle Atremaru Jungle Retreat and Ocean Green Eco Lodge, both with pools; and at the budget end Kamalay Pension House, Dabdab Tourist Inn, Bambua Nature Cottages and Cafe Sabang Guest House, all within about a 4–11 minute walk of the beach.
Is it worth staying in Sabang instead of doing a day tour?
Yes if the Underground River is your main event. Paddle-boat tours start at 08:30 and a van from the city needs 1.5–2.5 hours, so an overnight puts you at the wharf for the first boats. One night is enough.
Is Four Points by Sheraton the old Sheridan Beach Resort?
Yes — same property, same beach. Booking sites still show both names, so if you see two listings at different prices, they are the same hotel.
What is the cheapest place to stay near Sabang Beach?
Cafe Sabang Guest House, with basic fan rooms and a shared cold shower about a 4-minute walk from the beach, and Bambua Nature Cottages, which has dorm beds. Rates change daily, so compare them live rather than trusting a printed price.
How far is Sabang from Puerto Princesa?
76 km north-west of the city. A shared van costs ₱450 a head from the Irawan terminal and takes about 2–2.5 hours; tour vans list the drive at about 90 minutes.
Can I go from Sabang straight to El Nido?
We found no published timetable for a direct Sabang–El Nido service, so plan on going back toward the city. If you want to try a connection north, ask your guesthouse the day before rather than relying on a timetable you found online.
Do I still need a permit if I sleep in Sabang?
Yes. In a January 2026 notice the park said that going straight to the park, or staying overnight in Sabang, does not guarantee a Visitor Entry Permit. No permit, no entry, and the cap is 900 visitors a day.
Can I hike the jungle trail from Sabang?
Not at the moment. The park lists the 5.3 km trail from Sabang to the river entrance as temporarily closed for renovation. Check with the booking office before you plan around it.
